Jane attended Elam School of Fine arts for 3 years where she was lucky enough to be tutored by some
of New Zealand’s famous artists including the late Don Binney before moving to Japan. It was after
her return that she started exhibiting.
Over the last 20 years Jane has been participating in many exhibitions. She has been exhibiting at Art
Matakana too for many years and was selected along with other artists by the late Denis Robinson to
feature in his book “Gallery”. Jane was one of the founding organisers for the successful Vauxhall
School art show and along with a fellow artist curated the first two shows.
Jane draws inspiration from people, glossy magazines, social experiences, music, dance and still life.
Her style is a combination of linear and block colours, brights and neutrals, movement and still. Her
subjects are bold and cheerful and very relatable
