Christian Nicolson has worked as a full-time artist for the past 15 years and is based in Auckland New Zealand. Initially studying design, he worked as an art director in design and advertising roles for several years in both New Zealand and in London. He loves to paint, sculpt, use photography, create installations, and also makes films. He has several works in the Wallace’s art collection and been a finalist in the Wallace awards 7 times. Christian has also featured in three of Denis Robinsons art publications including NZs favourite artists volume 2. He focusses on one solo exhibition a year but also has featured in many group shows such as sculpture on the gulf and sculpture on shore. Christian has also made an award winning feature film called This giant papier mache boulder is actually really heavy which was released this year in the US. Being creative is king.
